Colorado

I think you will greatly enjoy the shade. I know facing the west that side of your house is roasting in it most of the day.
I am glad you ended up not needing the permit. Those are a hassle to get.

We are done with the bird swap. I only sold 2 Dark Brahma. I guess everyone wants something for nothing. I was not out of line in asking 20 per nearly 4 month old pullet but who knows.
I told DH we are not doing that again. It was a total pain and there were many birds that did not look to good. We stayed well away from them and did not allow anyone to handle the birds unless they were buying them. If they wanted a look at them up close I held them and did the feather moving.
I am going to raise up the partridge rock to butcher size and process them as well as 13 of my old hens. That will put me with 30 hens. More than I wanted to keep but within the coop and run size (almost). I may have to process a few more.

If anyone is looking in the Loveland/Fort Collins area for 6 partridge rock, Black Sex Link and/or a silver duckwing EE I am willing to cut a good price since they are young (nearly 4 months old) and deserve a chance to be someones laying hens. PM me if interested. I may also sell the Buff Laced Polish to the right person.

Glad to know they are testing but I did not see them there.
We were there for 2 hours and had a few lookers not many takers. Most of the lookers were others trying to sell as well.
We also stopped at the Loveland swap and had some looking but did not sell any there.
It is ok. I will either find them other homes soon or have to process them.

They were starting to look a little stressed from the heat since they are used to the huge shade tree so I brought them home. I had water and food for them which they used but the asphalt is brutal.

I will take some new pics and post them. DH does not like the idea of selling on Craigs due to what happened in Longmont. It freaks him out.

If he will let me put them on there I will. I have to respect his wishes in regards to that.

For Craigslist I did all exchanges at the Safeway in Falcon...felt a lot safer there, than having people come to the house.
We are pretty excited about finishing the deck in a week and a half...my Mother in law is the one pushing for the pergola, apparently she has a picture of one in a magazine. We're pretty lucky that my father in law is one of those people we can show a picture to, and he can build it. Pergolas need permits though, so I'm still on the fence about it.
I've been selling my extra eggs here in our neighborhood, after giving my MIL three 18 packs, she finally said she had enough. I was stuck with about 60 eggs, and they all sold within thirty minutes of posting on our neighborhood website. That was nice, and most of them told me to raise my prices, so I guess I'm doing ok there. I really did want Cinnamon Queens, and still look sometimes, someone in Pueblo wanted me to prepay...I said no thanks. Maybe I'll find some next year, I really want them for the eggs.

Hey @21hens-incharge , I was at the TSC swap with my big Anatolian Shepard right at the beginning. I had hoped to pick you out, meet you and say hi... Couldn't determine if you were there or who you were. Oh well... Sorry you didn't have a successful sale. After that, I brought the dog home then went to the goat show up at the boulder county fairgrounds. I want some, but property isn't set up for them yet... Next spring for sure!

@Ashdoes , that deck looks like it's gonna be awesome! Def gonna need that shade though! Curious... is it attached to the house or free standing? I need/want to move someplace where I don't have politician/busybodies telling what I can & can't do, where/what/how I can and can't build, and CHARGING me for the "privilege" of being able to do what I want on my property with my belongings... GGGgrrrrrrr....
