Colorado

WOW LS glad you are going to be ok. Some roosters just seem bent on self destruction.

Welcome to the new to BYC members! The group sure is growing fast this season. Lots of great people on here and I am sure you will find lots of great information and support with us.

Yes I am up in Loveland. Did anyone else see that the new Sprouts is open? I am glad to have them here. They are a good option for me and I hope for others too.

I probably posted these pics before but am going to again just in case anyone is interested in looking.

This is one of the windows I made for the new coop. Taken of course before I got it painted. I think they came out nice.
I finally got the new coop all painted too. I am very glad to be done with this unexpected & urgent project.

I did not put a window in this side for somewhat obvious reasons lol. That sun would be heating it up in the evenings. That and the walk path is right there so awning style would be in the way and surely get walked into.

Those windows got finished in time to prevent the visiting racoon from getting to bold in its attempt to get in. I found dirty racoon prints on one of the window sills the morning before I got the solid windows in.

Yup them critters are here in the middle of town.

Next project is flagstone patio and walk paths........ it never ends.

Nicely done there 21Hens! I'm assuming the eves front and rear are open for ventilation under the overhangs. Love the use of the cattle panels for the run also! Gonna be some safe and happy chooks there!

Glad the coon(s) (there are ALWAYS more than one!) didn't gain access!

I am no longer in possession of a BA roo. While filling the feed trough for them, the roo flogged me and got me good on the right forearm in 3 places. I was bleeding quite well (pressure is obviously adequate). He has attempted to numerous times in the past, and had been schooled about the stupidity of doing so. This time he paid with his life. I always watched him when I open that enclosure and he appeared to be minding his own biz in the back corner, then came out of nowhere. :rant  I no longer have to worry about entering that enclosure. Since I am not hatching nor selling eggs for same, it's no great loss. I who profess that there's no reason to keep a mean roo, have followed my own advice.

Oh my! Sounds like he had it coming the little bugger! I chose a Buff Orpington rooster in hopes of avoiding aggressive behavior. I hope I made the right choice.
