Colorado

I don't know how much we actually ended up with here... due to the high winds (typical) we have bare ground in spots and 2 to 2 1/2 foot drifts. I did find a couple of 'holes' in the chicken coop that let snow in on one side. Thankfully it wasn't by the roosts so they are dry and fine. We knew it wasn't completely winterize but haven't had the money (like all the rest of you rich folk have

) to completely finish it.

We can't get out our driveway. I've got three teenage boys working on shoveling though.

Hello out there. I'm an new BYC member in Falcon. It took me hours, but I read every single post for the Colorado bunch. I sure am happy to find this source for all things fowl.

The weather is always a topic of interest here in Colorado. This little blizzard had me thinking about the "Blizzards of 2006." We had such high drifts our flock couldn't even get out of the coop for days. When they did, some coyotes or dogs where able to scale the drifts and get inside the pen and killed five of my birds. It or they ate the breasts out of my turkeys, but just killed 3 chickens. I'm sure glad we don't have drifts that big this time around. We where stuck at home for days, too. This storm had the good grace to hit during Spring Break, which I for one appreciate.

It's great to "meet" you all, and I hope to visit the Pueblo farmer's market in June.

Quick question for anyone in the springs area (or south)... anyone know what the heck they are doing with pikes peak international raceway? I used to go to a motorcycle race down there every year and rumor has it the track is either closed or something strange like that... anyways. off topic but figured someone on here might know

Good morning! Rumor has it that PPIR has been sold (it's been closed for a while) and will be opening again, but not for NASCAR races (my husband's favorite). A co-worker of mine had all the details, but I won't see him again until spring bread is over.

I so hope to come to Fountain for Wifezilla's swap. I bought some straight run chicks, and I'll most likely need to part with some baby roosters by then.

By the way, there will be a general action at the El Paso county fairgrounds in Calhan, Sat. May 23, beginning at 11:00 am. There will be poultry, rabbits, and lots of other good junk. I just found out about it, since I don't live that close to Kansas. I've never been to an auction, but it might be fun.

I haven't been to an auction in ages... that would be fun for sure. I drove past ppir a couple weeks ago and it looks the same as it always has.. initially I heard they were going to gut the whole place and shut it down, looks like that isn't the case

we need more tracks out here.. Colorado is going from a pretty bad place to see a race to one where it's impossible

We have Bandemere and a few other small venues but nothing that really does it for me.
