Everyone ready for more snow tomorrow? My unfinished coop is just now dried out from the last one... at this rate my chickens are going to be taking over my house before it's done.

Actually can't complain, we really do need this moisture, guess I'll just put some tarps on the coop and call it good until Spring resurfaces. We were getting a little too spoiled there for a while.

I really hate Spring around here. It reminds me too much of Wisconsin December - April

70% chance of rain and/or snow tomorrow and 70% on Saturday too.

I think we only have a 50% chance here, but I am not ready. Oh, well, it is getting the garden ready to rototill. It was so dry even my big hubby couldnt do it with a HUGE rototiller. He said we needed to get his dad's disk to do it... overkill!

I took the week off to finish tilling the garden and setup the irrigation system. Also wanted to start setting up another coop. Gave up and told the boss I would be back on Wed. Got another week 1st of May. I'll try again then.

Update for the Brighton Merchantile:

Today they had Silver Laced Polish-SR sooooooooo cute with varying degrees of colors. A couple were very silver.
Giant Black Cochins-Pullets
Assorted Feather Legged Bantams-Frizzle Cochins, and a couple I can't remember
Rosecomb Bantams
and a few other Standards.

The sad thing is the pasty butt some of these little ones have.

Hey, anyone here in neck of the woods that has any Turken hatching eggs or know of a place selling Turken babies? We just had a predator come through and run off with two of my favorite chickens, a Turken and BO. We figured out how the animal got in and have fixed it but I really, really want to replace that Turken. Funny, I didn't even like the darn thing when we got it, tried to give it away to people who were coming to buy other chicks but she just grew on me.

That's the first place that comes to mind. However, it can't be the only feedstore that sells chicks up there

Their is always the online options like mypetchicken.com depending on how many he wants... etc... I prefer to buy locally so I'd reccomend Murdhoc's. I believe the one down here buys from McMurray... The brighton merchantile mart if he wants to drive this way a bit buys from Privett... or at least that's where mine that I bought there came from...

good luck.

Oh, thanks. It really bites because the BO really was my fave bird with such an obnoxious personality. Who woulda thought you could get so attached to stupid chickens? I've got four more Buffs in the brooder that I bought for breeding maybe they'll be really cool like she was. The Turken was EVERYBODY'S favorite.
