Colorado

Holy Moses. So, I’ve steadily gotten more sick since the first weekend of the month, with this week being the worst. Those cold temps do not help with this weird birdemic flu I’ve got. Side note: on Sunday, a barn swallow tried to fly into my mouth, which was open because I was mid-sentence. I’m positive I’m gonna turn into a zombie now.

Anyway. Unfortunately, that means I haven’t collected eggs until today. Everything was frozen (obviously), but what’s got me feeling is that there were over 30 eggs out there. I was not prepared for that kind of egg production! I’m gonna have to learn to cook/bake or find someone to start giving them to. Or just feed them all to the dogs & back to the birds.

I am once again just shaking my head at the fact that poultry decided to live with me and I don’t like eating eggs.

I will definitely try out the chili rellenos! Can’t believe I didn’t think of that because I LOVE those!

I’m hoping it’s just a cold that my brain injury has decided needs to feel like a death rattle. I really don’t need pneumonia again. :fl

Hey Chicken Lovers! I am looking for a landlord who is chicken friendly in the greater Denver area. I am moving out that way for a job in a few months, and will have to rent first. So I am hoping to find a chicken friendly (and dog and rabbit friendly) place to rent. If you know of any contacts in that area I would be grateful to make a connection and even just meet other chicken lovers out there.

My chickens are really reeving up now, though my Ams still haven't restarted laying. I've decide to join in the Easter hatch-a-long (my first HOL :wee) so I really hope they will lay some that I can add to the incubator. I guess it's not a big deal either way because I can just incubate more later. I was having fun making patterns with my eggs. One day I'm going to have paint made to match these colors and paint my whole house in different eggshell colors.

I love the different colors too. I picked my breeds based on egg color so I could get a rainbow of colors. I miss getting my lovely blue eggs. Originally I didn't want any white but they really make the color of the other eggs pop. I hope to hatch some of the BCM and Wellsummer eggs to get olive green and spotted green.

I seem to have several colors of green lol and many mixed birds! I love a good leghorn, my Golden sexlink lays a Dark Brown egg that is darker than many of my cuckoo marans mix girls.... I think she is an exception Not the rule though
