U.S. Post Office According to the tracking the ducklings didn't leave the distribution center this morning. They're still in Portland.

Here are the two Ameraucana chicks.

Here are the AM/Welsummer crosses. They seems to have a bit of a reddish brown hue on the their faces. I'll be interested to see if they keep that as they age.

Usually that just means that Portland was the last scan not that they are sitting there. You shouldn't get an update until they get scanned in Denver.
Am/welsummer are a fantastic cross. The hens are kind of boring but the eggs are spectacular. Army green with brown dots.

Nice egg! I got an update that they are in route to the next facility. They should do a departure scan though. I once had a tracked package that didn't show any updates until it was scanned as delivered. Not much point in tracking that box.

Hatchling made no progress yesterday. Enlarged the hole. Membrane was dry and leathery. Wet a coffee filter and placed the egg on it it to prevent more drying. No change this morning. Time to intervene. A few cracks and free. Immediately tried to get to it's feet. Already done a few laps around the incubator. The great take away is hatch on coffee filters! The filter stayed wet and the shell and goo cleaned right up.

They came! Holderreads even sent a bonus one so I got 12 ducklings.
