The 3 that hatched are doing great - I got 1 blue and wouldn't you know that my mother in law's little dog attacked her!! My husband was in the yard when it happened and saved her - she got a pretty good gash in her rear end, but she's doing better now - good thing I never planned to show, huh?!?! I'm waiting for more bbs orp eggs now from someone else, but they're taking too long to be delivered, so my hopes aren't high for these, either!

Oh no! Thank goodness for your hubby! I am glad she is recovering. I have a cannibal buff orp who ripped out feathers and chunks of flesh from every chick but one or two. She is a nasty thing. I hope they will heal and regrow their feathers.

Howdy folks! Well, I've been waiting a couple months on birds from a breeder but it fell through.

backyard layer (rocks, orps, EEs, sussex, dottes, etc.) pullets for sale? I'm looking for 2- 3.

Do you have other chickens that will be housed with them? I have 2 buff orps that I will be offering in 4-6 weeks (waiting for my little gals to start laying) They are very friendly and follow people around. The problem with them is the wait if you are wanting them now and one of them is a pretty aggressive hen with chickens besides her sidekick (the other BO) and she pecked feathers/skin off of my pullets. They are 18 weeks old and living inside in a freezer box while I finish up their coop and when I let them free range till dusk they come and wait at the sliding glass door for me to let them in. Last night one of them even let herself in when I opened the door carrying one of the little ones. It was adorable. Oh and they have been fed organic soy free food since they were about 1 week old.

ETA It is a picture of one of them as a day old in my avatar pic
