Matthew, that rooster of yours is quite the handsome devil!

YESSS!!! DH ALWAYS dives into a challenge... The coop now has 4 walls (not complete, needs to install doors and windows) but they're up!!

He's going to prove my prediction wrong at this rate...

What do you all do for disease prevention? I was reading about one of my Step-dad's friends in Kansas who dusts all of her chickens bottoms with powder for mite prevention and dips their feet in iodine for bumblefoot prevention. My chickens appear healthy, but I am still new to this. Should I be doing these things? Just confused. Thanks in advance for your thoughts!

I mix prebiotic (note the pre, not the pro. pre works with the bacteria that is naturally present in the gut, pro introduces bacteria from milk products into the system, not as effective) and dried kelp, both in powder form, into the feed as we buy it. I also mix the same into the chick starter, and feed it from the day they start eating the food

Haven't had a single problem since we switched to the prebiotic and the kelp
