Hang in there I ship in birds quite often and for many years. I have only got one shipment like the one you just got..it was so sad. I called the hatchery and they were getting reports of all dead shipments from many states. They refunded the money and found that it was a problem on chicks that had been transported on a single plain. Please let the shipper know, so they have an opportunity to make it right.

Anyone interested in a super sweet BLRW cockrel? He is almost 9 weeks old. I want him to find a happy home where he will be loved and spoiled as much as he has been with me.

did I tell you what I named them? With the help of another BYCer I named them Parsley, Sage, Rosemary, and Thyme. Hahahahahahahahaha Sage and Thyme are the Cayugas, Parsley and Rosemary are the ones I got from you!

I have goat babies. FINALLY! CC had 4, the last had just been born when I got out there this morning. Unfortunately, 2 were born dead. The 2 survivors are girls and very cute.

Will post pix when I can.

Now ... waiting for the other doe to give birth. Might only be one because she's still pretty small but very bagged up.

Okay ... I gotta get back out there! She needs more hay and molasses water. And still has to pass the placenta. Believe me ... gross!

Edited because I forgot to say that we're selling the babies so if you're considering getting does, e-mail me. The mamas are nigerian dwarf and the papa is an alpine/nubian mix. You can come and pre-buy but they will stay with mama until at least 6 weeks old.

Picked up shipment of chicks today and all were dead also. I have had dozens of shipments over several years and never have I had a shipment with all the chicks dead. It was some stupid postal worker mishandling I am sure. Poor little babies.

There have been a LOT of issues with shipped chicks this year. Also problems with shipped eggs. Someone I sent hatching eggs to had scrambled air cells. Fortunately she still had some hatch, but they must have dragged the box behind the truck or something!!

contact your supplier/hatchery. Very likely if you explain it, they will either reship or refund/store credit you. Take a look at their policies.

SOmetimes things like this happen. Most of the time it has nothing to do with the hatchery, but in how they are handled and cared for in transit. Good luck. I hope that in the end you have a bunch of happy peeping chicks to enjoy.

Looks like i am getting some bunnies this weekend!!! Woo hoo!!
