Thanks! what really worried us for a few minutes, was the smoke that we saw between us and the raceway...... It ended up being just a cloud of smoke that swirled around us. We thought for a while that we had another fire!

Hi to all!

I just listed some birds on CL and thought I would pass the word to you guys too.

I have 3 Lavender Cochin Bantam pullets age 15 weeks.
3 Black/Lavender Split Ameraucana roosters age 15 weeks, these guys are from BYC breeders and are not hatchery birds. They all carry the lavender gene.

3 Wheaten Marans roos and 1 Black Copper Marans roo, all age 9 weeks, from Nancy (Bargain on BYC)

1 Jersey Giant roo, age 9 weeks. This guy is going to be big and is a beautiful laced blue color.

Hello Chandra,

What part of town are you in? You could bring them to the Earthdog Poultry Swap this Saturday. It is from 10-12 at 4th and Kalamath in the parking lot of Earthdog.

Anyone else going? We will be there.

If anyone is interested in silkies or Dutch bantams I will have both for sale at the Brighton Bird Swap on Sunday July 10th. I should be there around 7ish, when it opens. I will be driving a black chevy truck with a maroon topper on the back.
I have numerous silkies started birds, unknown sex on most of them. I have two black and white ones and I do believe that at least one of those is a female. A few blacks, a few buffs with much black in them, a partridgy looking few, lots of Dutch bantam cockerels and one cock bird. A few older hens in Dutch, and a few black and buff silkie females that have all been brooding fools. They are not in condition, but most of them have been my breeder birds for the last year or so. I just need room for the younger stock thats growing up.

here are the older 4
the two black/white/red ones a greyish with some red coming in and a head shot of a black

Sackman, how is the Greeley swap? I went a few years ago on the fourth of july weekend and there was hardly anyone there. Is it every month and which Saturday is it? Is it usually pretty good? I only have Saturdays off normally, I had to switch days to get the the brighton one this time.

A couple months ago I got one of those reverse 911 calls re: the Franktown fire. In a nutshell it said 'Get out'. I put the horses in a trailor and took them to another ranch north of Elizabeth, then did an immediate 180 to go back for the girls. It really makes you think about what's important. I didn't have time to load the file cabinets in the truck (they're really heavy) so I tossed the laptop in and began rounding up the birds. The fire only made it 1/4 mile from the ranch but I don't regret doing it. There was a helicopter flying over dropping water on the houses and barn. God bless fire fighters.
