I'm in Widefield, and am floored at the amount of snow we've gotten! We live in an area where usually, the storms split and go right around us..We will get a dusting, and just a mile north or south, they get hammered...Both of the last snows, we've gotten 4-6 inches...My kids are loving it! Time to make some $$ shoveling!

Some friends of ours live in PW, and could not get up here( Fountain) yesterday for the school play..They tried, but watched several cars slide or almost slide off the roads..They turned around...

I'm in Stetson Hills. I can't believe we got this much snow! We actually came home from vacation on Monday, just before it really started going. I think we averaged about 35 mph on the way home. I think we have about five or six inches at our place. The little girls (2 bantam brahmas and a polish) refused to come out of their coop. The big girls came out of their coop only after I cleared a space in the snow.

I'm just glad I have enough groceries and whatnot stocked up to not have to go to the store for a few days. Being a stay-at-home mom certainly has it's advantages; no commute required!

yotricia02, Howdy neighbor, you north or south of 50, I'm so far south of 50, if I take a bad step, I fall in the river

? PM me, love the fact that there is someone so close in the group! Keep the kids sleding safe. Merry Christmas!

I am in Security near Venetucci Elementary. I got my workout helping someone push their sports car out of the intersection this morning.

Wow, that is just too funny. There is a family renting the other house @ the ranch. The wife called and asked if I was planning on plowing the driveway because they all had to leave. I said 'Just take my truck because it's going to take at least an hour'. Why anyone in Colorado wouldn't own a 4 wheel drive is beyond me.

I have a good reason! We bought my Suburban 8 years ago when we lived in Texas (husband was in the Army)! We moved here 7 years ago.

However, the truck he bought after moving here IS 4X4 (and lifted LOL) and when we eventually replace my Suburban I plan on getting a 4X4, too. My 2 wheel drive Suburban does pretty darn well in the snow, though.

We got a good foot up here. I was up early pushing neighbor's cars (including one 4X4 LOL) and shoveling my driveway. I got really lucky....I had backed into the garage the night before to unload groceries so getting out was a cinch.

I am always amazed by my chickens. They don't mind the snow AT ALL! They walk or fly around it, for the most part, but once they have a path shoveled they are just as happy as when there is no snow! And they like to peck at it and eat it.

I am so proud of how hardy they are turning out to be.

HELP! Am planning on getting my first chicks in early spring. Already have some ordered from local breeder in fountain, but am looking for more (hopefully Barred Rocks) from local or semi local breeders. I could SWEAR I read on this thread about a poultry/maybe a swap show in the Denver area around Jan 5 or so. I was too stooooooooopid to bookmark it and now I can't find the post. Tried to google it but I either dreamed up the show or you have to be better at google than I am to find it.

Does anyone know anything about this show??? Was I hallucinating?
