Not always possible but at least with the whites I can try. Let me know when you are ready and we will make sure you get a nice couple or trio. So far I just have the temps on the incubators with duck eggs stabilized, But there should be room for those goose eggs in one that just has the overflow from the last setting. When I get the infertile eggs from that setting sorted out the Sebbies will have their own incubator. Rbloomer you will have to give me any tips you have on incubating goose eggs. I'll be sure to keep you guys posted on the progress.
 
While I love this weather...sheesh in the 80's on Sunday, OH MY, I sure wish spring would not spring this quickly. All my plants coming up so soon, trees leafing out and blooming, and you just KNOW we are in for another freeze or two.

Gotta admit it sure made it easier keeping the tiny chicks out in the semi-open air coop. There was no way I was bringing them into my house and I don't have a garage.

Cheers everyone, what a great day. I picked up 2 Wellie chicks today to add to my BR's and BA's (3 wks old). They seem to be tolerating each other very well (I watched them for the first 3 hours), have already bedded down for the night. I assume I am OK for the night after they bed down, just will go out EARLY tomorrow AM and make sure they don't wake up cranky.
 
It is so gorgeous out!! We rototilled the garden and the birds are loving the turned dirt. Lots of dustbathing, I do love this time of year. The allium, grape hyacinths, and persian stars are sprouting...even saw the mint beginning to peak up. Yum, mint tea in summer.
Nice enough for young chicks to get some sun. I had a photo of Frosty below, she'd enjoyed the watermelon so much its all over her face. BTW---the gosling from the Sebbies is darling!!! They are nice looking birds...
 
Shorts for 2 days in a row! You may remember my earlier posts re: the neighbor dogs coming over and killing my girls. Well, his dogs have been removed at my request to animal control, so now the girls are free ranging again (so nice out) and making a horrible racket. Here's my dilemma - he (said neighbor) could at any time call the HOA president and report me for having chickens. A valid response might be that 95% of the peeps I know in this 'hood have chooks! That's not a small #. Of course, that could get them in trouble. If I were to bring it up in an upcoming HOA meeting it could be tying my own noose (or the girls). Aside from egging the presidents house, what should I do?

So the last two weeks have, for the most part, been fantastic weatherwise at our house. The first week i was in Palm Springs for work meetings. Last Saturday I got alot done on the fence. Then Sunday night, I started feeling poorly. Ends up I had the flu. Yuck! Today is the first in a week without a fever. I am now nearly two weeks behind in my fencing and chicken project. And then I find out the my first batch of hatching eggs show up on the 12th of April, nearly 2 weeks earlier than first anticipated. Oh well.

Your first thing would be to see if the Pres. has chickens...., then bribe with fresh eggs if needed.
