Nope. That's Brian Kemper, AKA Lt. Brian Kemper, US Army. I'm not that tall. You can see the head and shoulder of my oldest son, David just to the left of Brian. Of course, you can also see our anti-cavalry defensive works.
Nice photo Sharon!

There is no law against having a coop I imagine. Perhaps sell/rehome your hens and keep the coop until you are sure nothing can be worked out. You could always "start fresh" again with a new set of chicks/pullets/hens in the future. There will be just about the same market for your coop next spring as today... Just thinking out loud.I guess I'm in the $1,200-1,300 camp. It's awesome, but the new owner is going to have a heck of a time moving it if it doesn't break down into "parts"... thinking gates, fences, regular truck or trailer... 12' is pretty long. Try craigslist just to see if there are any bites. Just because somone shows interest doesn't mean you have to sell... just test the waters.

Aww Maggie sounds cute. I have a conure too....she is a nanday conure and boy is she LOUD!! What kind of conure is Maggie?
Your story about helping the second chick out of the egg reminds me of when I hatched chicks this spring with my first grade class......
The kids kept telling me one of the eggs was chirping, so I went to investigate and sure enough the little guy was trying really hard to get out (the others were already out and drying under the heat lamp). So my assistant and I did our best to take a little off at a time and a few hours later "Stucky" was hatched! The kids named him that bc he was 'stuck' lolit seemed that it was just in a strange position and couldn't peck out! The foot was covering it's face sorta. I'd never hatched chicks before so it was quite an experience! And I never knew that you can hear them peeping in the eggs!!! And that a mama hen can chirp to her chicks when they are getting ready to hatch if they're under her. It is so sweet!![]()
I like the idea...But keep in mind that it will be on the same day as the Pueblo West/ Penrose swap! Those two last all day..together. With me.....doesn't matter, Penrose and Colorado Springs is about the same drive!

Chickens.....$70.00 Coop size....$500.00......all the add-on extras....$400.00..... My thought would be $1000.00 for a take away price..as it sits! And I'm a cheapie! All my coops have been built with reclaimed materials.

They eat whole crawdads?! Such spoiled little girls!
I'm back from vacation and catching up on the thread. Love the pics of the re-enactment camp. I also want to say THANK YOU to Mo for taking care of our girls while we were away. They are very happy and healthy. We left in a rainstorm last week and came back to one while driving into town. It's like it just rained the whole time! My girls all have little pink faces now which I hope means eggs are coming soon. They also stopped going 'peep peep' while we were gone and now everyone is saying 'bok bwaak' instead so they are growing up.
When is the swap down in Penrose? I tried looking it up but I couldn't find a location/date.
