Well, the ladies set-up was fantastic. She had a huge barn with seperate runs connected to the back. When we got out there she showed us the older ones, and she was pretty sure only two were Pullets, so we decided to look at the babies. We turned around and saw two brooders, and when she told my hubby that one was silkies he practically squealed like a girl. I was busy getting all excited about the adult Cochins...the roosters were just huge!
So, prior to calling her I decided no more than 5...right? Yeah, hubby picked the two light grey silkies and i grabbed him an extra one. Then I let both our daughters pick a Cochin and we got two more. That'd be 7 total.
We set them up in the garage, instead of the barn, that way they have their light for a couple more weeks. Then we'll put them in the barn still in their baby gate, and about a week later we'll put them into the coop. The Cochins are 2 1/2 weeks and the silkies are just over 1...we think. Too much excitement and i can't remember exactly what she said.
And the only thing you all reall care about...The Pics!
The Silkies. She said the lighter ones will be a light grey. I'm not sure on the darker one.

The Cochins. My girls picked the lighter ones, Hubby and I picked the darker ones.

and now see if you can find the Silkies...

LOL. We threatened our adult sons with that...told them, "you get what you pay for....."

I want to make my own cheese. One project at a time though.

Mayah stopped by and took the last of the pullets in the go away pen. Still have lots of cockerels if anyone wants some......

I'll take one of those cockerels...

...in a freezer bag.
