hi, how long did the color last?

On my hands or on the chicks! Hhahah. It lasted until their new feathers started to come in.

as for my hands.... about a week. My middle finger was exceptionally purple.... they birds got me on that one.... permanent reminder for myself... hahahaaa

What chicks are best to dye?
What kind of chicks are born white? (they would be easier to dye)

What I was getting at if the owners decided they didn't want the bird it's not as likely to be dumped like rabbits at easter. Look at the ads a few weeks after easter you'll see tons of rabbits,not so much chickens. Chickens are a great pet I have 4 of them but they also are a great food,the only differance between a pet and a food chicken is a name, you don't name your food.

oh no no no.... i used food coloring when they were about 5 days old.
