Colored Eggs Incubation

Also, seeing you are in NW Oregon... your humidity is likely very high?

I too am in PNW. I incubate at 40- 45% humidity and raise to 65% for hatch. 1 person I know in the area goes at 35%.

DO you know how to candle and check you evaporation at certain days and adjust? Have you checked out this thread...

Or any of the pages under here...

Lots of very useful info!!!

Best wishes for an awesome hatch.

Thank you. The humidity has been pretty high, one sunny day, but otherwise nonstop rain for the past week. Oh Well. We're bound to get some sun sometime, right?

@EggSighted4Life : Does that mean that when hatching coclored eggs, the humidity should be at a lower level?
No, when incubating during the first 18 days is my understanding.

I did 40-45% on days 1 through lock down with cream and blue eggs, no dark ones yet (will go a little dryer maybe 35% when I do my Marans eggs). And one white egg. Had a decent first hatch. And increase to 65% during lock down which is hatching.

Also, some breeds can be harder to hatch.

Broody's rock!
