Colored eggs

Wow I didn’t notice! Which chickens do lay chocolate brown eggs? Thank you.
Some of the standard-sized chicken breeds do lay chocolate brown eggs. Marans and Welsummers are two of the more common ones that are supposed to do that.

But not every chicken breed has a bantam (small) version, and even when a bantam version does exist, it may lay eggs of a different shade of brown than the standard (big) version of that breed.

This reads like an AI generated answer. And I think it is because bantam Legbars don't exist. Aside from that, bantam Marans do not lay deep chocolate brown eggs, they lay medium brown eggs.
I know this is an aside that may derail this post, but you bring up a point that's been bothering me for some time. We need a way to tag AI generated responses and articles ... or ban them altogether. BYC is a trusted source of information and advice. That trust comes from knowing that content is sourced from experienced chicken keepers and researchers. If we lose that, we are truly lost!
