Is that a Welsummer rooster? I am growing one out right now.

He's a 9 month old welsummer. I did have 6 and trying to pick the best looking one was impossible. Sort of einey meeney miney moe to decide on one.

I hatched out some when I was first incubating and only managed one and it was a cockerel. We kept him because he looked neat. Now I've been told that if I cross him on my Cuckoo Marans hens I will get dark egg-laying sex-links, so I'll give that a shot when he finishes growing out. He's around 5 months old now.

I am going to put my welsummers in a separate coop in a week or two. Maybe I should put my cuckoo maran with them. Thanks Buster

rather than ask what all breeds are in your flock, I'd like to know what breeds you still "need" to add! That would be the short list! What a great looking bunch of chickens!

I have 5 welsummers, 4 black australorps, 2 speckled sussex, 1 splash BLRW, 1 BLRW, 1 SLW, 2 GLW, 1 cuckoo maran, 4 ameraucans, 1 BO, 1 blue andalusian
I want golden lakenvelders, black copper marans, silver seabrights, and probably several other bantams before I'm done
