So... in my unending search for chicken knowledge

I've noticed that some colors in the chicken world have more then one name.

For example Lavander and Self Blue are the same color as well as columbian is sometimes known as light

So what other chicken colors have more then one name?

There are lots of hobby names for colours which are confusing. Sometimes the same colour has more than one name, & sometimes a name can be used for more than one colour.

For instance a partridge welsumer is not the same colour as a partridge wyandotte (aka gold penciled)& a spangled hamburgh is not the same colour as a spangled Old English Game. A black breasted red is sometimes said to refer to duckwing/partridge colour family birds however most males not of this genetic family also appear to be black breasted reds.

color names next to other names for them:

black breasted red - patridge
black breasted red - wheaton
black breasted light red - wheaton
red - black tail red
copper - brown red
blue copper - lemon blue
mille fluer - red porcelain
buff laced - chamois
self blue - lavendar
self blue - a solid blue chicken
khaki - dun
silver duckwing - grey
silver wheaton - grey
birchen - black grey
silver blue - blue grey
blue light brown (dutch) - blue red
cream blue light brown (dutch) - blue silver duckwing

Don't forget thatn many other countries say gold where we say buff.

Porcelain is a lavender diluted mille fleur in most places, but in Germany it is what they call regular mille fleur.

Grey as in silkie is the same as silver partridge.

Gold birchen is brown red.
