My Columbian Wyandotte lays 3-5 eggs per week, medium sized. Her first few eggs though were shellless or had very, very thin shells that broke on the way out, but it was temporary.
I started 2 CW this spring. I almost didn't order them b/c they looked so dumpy in the catalog. But, I'm delighted with these gals. They are absolutely huge. Not laying yet (that I have observed) though one has a red comb. At least one of the SLW is laying... or soon to be. She's been in the nest box this week. Those CW are wimps. Go running to hide if any other flock members even glance at them. They have yet to realize that all they'd need to do is sit on their opponent!
