My two Barred Rock rooster got into a fight this morning. The smaller one wound up with a bloody comb that bled into his eyes and now his eyes are clotted shut. I've tried to open his eyes and dilute the dried blood, but it's not working. The poor guy can't even see a thing. Any suggestions as to a blood thinner that won't harm his eyes or something so I can get him seeing again?

a lot of people use vasiline (spelling?) this is pretty common when roosters fight actually. usually just opening his eyes yourself works, and he may not open them himself after that due to being sore. . you might could try a warm rag to loosen it up a bit as well.

EDIT: also. make sure he isn't blind. instead of it bleeding into his eyes. may actually have gotten hit in them. no telling.

Soak the eyes with a warm cloth to loosen the dried blood. Try not to pick at it, but keep soaking until it all loosens.
As DTchickens says, be sure that the blood isn't from the eyes...

Thanks for the speedy response. I'll try that and see if I can get the lids moveable and see if he's actually blind in both eyes or not.

Thanks guys, but no luck. I still can't get his eyelids open...... I don't know what else to do. Also, there's something wrong with his leg as well. He can barely even walk.

he is just sore. the only thing you can do. is put your finger on his top eyelid. and one on the bottom. And pull them open BUT GENTLY. If you dont. he most likely will never see again. not walking. is because hes sore. If hes that bad off though... they usually dont live unless you take care of them really good...

I'll give him a day or two more to see if he improves. If not I'll have to take him out of his misery as best as I can. I don't want him to suffer more than he has to.

* Add a TINY PINCH of baking soda to the warm water you are using, and hold a saturated cotton ball against his eye to "soak". I also used the tearless foam baby shampoo. Just put a little puff over the eye and wipe it with a wet cotton ball after a couple minutes. These also help disinfect slightly-- but he'll need antibiotics most likely. You might also get some contact eye drop called "BLINK-N-CLEAN" from the drugstore. They're kinda pricey but they help clear protein build-up in the eye and helped Chook a lot.
