Fun Facts or Story: He is a pure-bred roo, but because he has too much lacing on his chest, he is not show quaity. A few weeks ago, he got out of his pen during the day. I went out to the chicken pen after I got home from work and saw that he was missing from his pen. We looked everywhere and could not find him. After my DH got home, I told him that Sir Baron just up and vanished. Well, my DS, just happened to move the feed bag that we put garbage in, and there he was, standing completely still. He got pecked on him comb and face, and was missing a lot of feathers on his head. As you can see on his comb, his peck marks are still healing.

Fun Facts or Story: Rudy is the alpha roo in our coop. He is in charge of all the chicks, teens and girls, and he does a great job.
A few weeks ago, he pecked my foot a couple times. I gently but firmly kicked him away. He came at me one more time, so, I again gently but firmly kicked him into the bowl of water. He has not come at me again.

Don't mind the dirt on his beak, he just got done eating mashed potatoes.

Interesting fact: Hoss was a free bird, my first chicken. In this picture his comb is covered in dried blood and he was in my bathtub. Something had tried to get him the night before and I thought he was dead as his hutch was empty. He started crowing at around 5:30 in the morning and I rushed out and rescued him. I love him.

Fun Facts or Story: Lawrence is blind in one eye (from 1 day old accident), but he is the best protector in the world! He attacks the Perigren Falcons when they try to get any of the chickens! He is very loving towards "his people" also!

Fun Facts or Story: Rodney was a rescue we got when a farmer had died and the chickens were just left to breed there were over 500 that needed rehoming, we picked him and 6 hens - he died on the 6th of August 08 - they started our love of chickens.

Name: big daddy

Breed: Columbian Wyandotte

Story: He was one of two chicks that my daughter 'rescued' after it hatched in a science lab at her college. He and the little pullet were in a box, labelled free and my daughter overheard a frat boy say " those are some nice cue balls, don't you think"... Big Daddy and Henny Penny stayed at college for a week, till I could pick them up, living in the girls dorm.

cowboy is only 6 mths old. my mom calls him cowboy because he looks like a spanish cowboy from old westerns. she said they always wore black and had big hats. he is a white face black spanish bantam.
