Comb Discoloration

Hello! A few of my girls with single combs have discoloration (yellow and white) on the tips of their combs, as seen on my girl Saffron here. Is this the beginning of frostbite? Is there anything I can do about it?

We’ve had some bitterly cold temps, and other than the comb tips, they seem to be faring well!

Yes, that appears to be mild frostbite. I don’t recommend doing anything for that, and leave it alone. Massaging or rubbing can cause more damage, and creams or ointments can freeze, causing more problems. Here are some good articles about frostbite prevention:
