Hey y’all I have a serama rooster and something has been goin on with his comb I believe he’s been attacked by my other serama rooster (Sargent) because I seen Sargent running off other chickens today that are even full size. None Of my other birds have any injuries that I seen today so that why I’m not leading towards a virus.. I’m just lost on what to do. I have brought him inside with 2 of my other birds.

Combs and wattles sustain injuries when chickens, both hens and roosters, quarrel with each other. Almost always, these injuries are minor even though they may bleed a lot. They heal up quickly.

This fellow appears to be thoroughly chewed up, and could use some first aid. If you are putting him back with the flock, Blu-kote can fight bacteria on the open wounds while camouflaging them so the other chickens will be less likely to peck at his comb.

If you have two rooster that regularly fight and bloody each other, it may be time to rehome or eat one.

Thank you I plan to put them back together because another rooster I have a total of 3 roosters together and he was the only who sustained injuries. If not I have another coop I will separate him and put a few girls with him as well as soon of my chicks when hey get big enough. I will look into the blu-kote. Anything for the time being until I can get my hands on some blu-kote?

Yes. Combs heal quickly and almost never leave scars. I even had a hen get her comb ripped almost completely from her head and it reattached in just 24 hours after I simply stuck it back down onto her bloody head.

That is odd looking...could be a combo of things?
Have you treated it with anything before pic was taken?

Wondering if frostbite could be in the mix?
Where in this world are you located?
Climate, and time of year, is almost always a factor.
Please add your general geographical location to your profile.
It's easy to do, (laptop version shown), then it's always there!

I was suspicious of frostbite, too. The way the tips are discolored and the wet blistery appearance is typical of frostbite.

I agree with @aart about putting your location in your profile. It allows us to give you more tailored advice. For example, on another thread right now, I was able to take the thread starter's location and research their soil type to better understand the advantages and liabilities they are facing.

It also enables us to check your current weather and temperature and understand your climate constrictions and advantages. If you state your location, we promise not to drop in without calling first.
