I have a broody pullet in the process of hatching out some mutt eggs today. I'm wondering if looking at the baby's combs as they grow out will help me figure out what the parentage is. Obviously, small crests on polishX babies, but I'm curious about comb combinations.
My roosters are:
Silver-spangled hamburg and silver-laced polish
My hens are:
EE, barred rock, australorp, silver-laced and golden-laced wyandottes
I've got one EE egg hatched, and that baby is obvious because it's got a very fluffy face likes its mother. One other baby has hatched from a brown egg, and it's mostly black, with a little yellow underneath and some white flecks in its feathers.
Can anyone give me an idea of possibilities on the combs in these babies?
EExpolish and EExSSH?
SLW or GLWxpolish
BRxpolish and BRxSSH
BAxpolish and BAxSSH
Thanks!
