comb size

hello. my name is timber, and i'm nine years old. we have chickens this year. i would like to ask you a question.

when a chicken's comb gets big, does that mean it's old???

Hi Timber,

Comb size does not indicate age unless you're talking about a chick turning into a hen/rooster... that is in my opinion..

i guess that means that one of my favourite chickens named Rizzo just has a big comb.

Timber, how long have you had your chicken? Do you know how old it? The boy chickens usually get bigger combs than the girl chickens, as they grow up. Doesn't mean they are old, just not chicks anymore. Hope this helps.

hi timber. and the answer is no. i have hens that were born on the same day and one looks like her crown never grew and one looks like the crown of a rooster. you are so polite

it really doesn't have any "meaning/use" its only for cooling purposes (that's what I've heard
