I know this is likely been gone over time and time again, however I searched and couldn't find an answer to my specific situation.

I had a broody hen hatch 2 chicks that hatched March 31. Also bought 9 other chicks that are now 3 weeks old. Will I have an issue integrating the 2 flocks with the broody hen in with the chicks?

Thanks

I don't think you should *have any issues. I have 4 different flocks of chickens and they all get along fine (three roosters even sleep in the same coop lol). Though depending on the behaviors you see in your chickens, your experience may be different. Do you find the older birds to be more aggressive?

Try introducing the older flock of chicks to the main flock. Let them get to know each other. Look out for any bullying and picking. You can teach some chickens to stand up for themselves. One of my chickens had to be kept indoors because she had an injury, and when she was put back into the flock she was very scared. But with help (from people showing her she doesn't have to run away from the other hens) she is now able to stand up for herself, of course in her own way. It may just take some time for your chickens to adjust, too.

Just be careful. I don't know your chickens or how they act, so you'll just have to pay attention to their behaviors and how they treat the chicks.

I hope everything works out!
