Combining non vaccinated birds with vaccinated birds

Hello ! I have minimal experience with chickens. We recently moved from a condo into a house, and have the opportunity to do a backyard mini flock again. I purchased four pullets from a breed specific breeder, that does not vaccinate her birds. My question is this. I would like to add three or four more birds of different breeds to the group over time, but am now wary of just picking up a few from tractor supply, or a larger scale breeder, because if I understand this correctly, vaccinated birds can make unvaccinated birds sick. Is that correct ? Again, I have minimal experience. Would I be better off vaccinating the pullets when they arrive this week ? Any advice would be greatly appreciated !

Vaccinated for what? Mareks vaccinated birds shouldn't be mixed with non vaccinated. Vaccinated ones will shed the virus but won't show symptoms. Those vaccinated for things like coccidiosis can be mixed.

I agree, you shouldn’t mix. Vaccinated birds can still carry a virus, it’s just that their body fights it off properly. It’s the same with people.
