Lil ugly birds! Someday I hope to have some Yamato Gunkei of my own. For now, they will enliven my wall:

Their feet need some touching up cause the brush I was using was too fat to do toes.

A bookmark with fishies that I’m working on:

There’s a really neat stitch that looks like a net that I want to try; that’s all the thinking behind the design.

A Lord of the Rings-themed bookmark I’m making for my dad:

As you can see I embroidered right up to the edge so it’s gonna be tricky sewing it up…

Finished my dad’s bookmark! I ended up blanket stitching the edge and letting the frayed bits stick out. This was the first time I’d tried turkey work; I think it came out nicely for the tassels:

Learned how to put together and stretch a canvas:

I have some fun doodles in my class notebooks but I haven’t taken pictures yet.
