She seems like she's such a nice lady. It's great that she's willing (and able) to sit and answer questions about what it was like growing up. Tell her thank you so very much!!

Looking forward to the next video.

Thank you! If I can get enough questions, I will make another one Friday! I actually have 103 questions that I made up, and I will fill in some spots with those if I need to.

Do you have a question for her? We already have:
(1) What is the one thing you still want to do?
(2) How have you managed to look so good at this age?
(3) What was it like growing up in the great depression?
Can you think of any more????

I thought of another one. What does she think of the technological advances we've made since she was a child? I.e fast cars with fancy gadgets, satellite TV, internet, iPods, cell phones (mobiles). How does the modern day compare to her early years? Is it better or worse in her opinion?

OMG, what a great job, we all need to pay attention to the foks with more experience than we'll ever have. Honeyma you are a darlin'!!! And everyone thanks you for sharing your knowledge, and you are so fortunate to have the family document your memories and common sense smarts, which so many seem to be lacking these days.

I do have a question for you...We have 13 pekin ducks, one is a male, they are a little over 3 months old, happy and healthy. But we live in Maine where the winters are quite harsh. They free range every day with supervision (hawk problem) and are good, good birds. They come when called, etc Will our Lucky be okay with so many wives, and being more confined in winter, will he be able to deal with it? He seems to have picked a favorite, no mating yet other than head bobbing, but will the others be jealous when they are kind of contained come winter?

This is our first year with Pekin ducks, but we are having a blast with them, we adore them. They would look pretty good on the table also, but we can't find anyone who will "do" them, and WE certainly cannot, the way they look right at you. No way can we see duck heads on the floor. Apparently they have gotten their pin feathers and nobody will "do" them unless they can skin them, and we all know that's the best part. We only want to have about 6 "done" but of course as time goes on, we grow more attached. As you well know, they need some space and a lot of cleaning (poop monsters!!!) and winter is a concern for us here. We can build a nice shelter with building scraps for them in the chicken pen as the chickens won't come out if there is a sonw flurry (spoiled rotten). I guess the main question is will they be okay in the sub zero temps? We hear they actually like snow, but we have had chickens with frostbite we have brought into the house and nursed, andt we cannot afford any vet bills.

So to put it in a nutshell, will our duckies be okay this winter with shelter (we will sell the eggs), they eat A LOT which we can't afford, any ideas other than table scraps? The chickens and ducks seem to get along fine while free ranging, but having them cooped together in winter, the ducks are so messy/ No one is really into ducks up here, and now we see why. Lots of bedding and cleaning and food. Have no problem "deep bedding" i.e. just keep adding more, but they have to be cleaned.. And the other question, will our Lucky boy be okay with 12 wives over winter??? We don't want to see anyone get hurt, we have heard a randy male duck will try to mate chickens;))...Thank you in advance for any advice, and so happy to see you here and be willing to share your experience and knowledge. You really should write a book or record your life on video or voice, you are adorable. Do you have a boyfriend, there are lots of lonely widowers up here in Maine, and they are all chilly and need some cuddling in January. Just kidding honey, you could probably kick their butts!

X2... Does she like them? Does she feel we're too dependent on them? Is there anything she's hoping will yet be invented?
