Got my five, one week old Buffs March 18th, then one week later got five, one week old RIRs near the 25th.

Today is August 6th.. "Were are my eggs you hussies ?" I ask them everyday when I go out to water and feed them...

Im going on week......22 ?

What drives me nuts is a friend of mine bought two black stars and a barred rock a week before I did, neglected them till they were about bone and feathers until his girlfriend stepped in and they are now dropping eggs left and right.

I hope they start to lay soon, Im just ready to see my first return on my hobby is all.

Hmmm. Perhaps it is time to use kinder words than "hussies". Maybe something like, ok girls, I know you are ready, I know you are going to give me some beautiful eggs. You can do it!

Teasing aside . . . it is hard to wait for those first eggs...and then when the come, at least in my case, it was one egg....and then no eggs for a week and then another. It will happen....unless they are roosters in disguise of course!
