If you have an incubator I can help you out with eggs if you'll pay $10 shipping. My birds are at www.windchyme.com. But I don't think you want eggs right this second...with the heat here the eggs aren't doing so well. If you are interested message me here in private and we'll see what we can do.

she could even wait for one of her pet silkies to go broody... save her money and not worry for three weeks... I'm just saying... isn't that what silkies are for?

That is an awesome offer silkie freak 22! Windchyme has awesome quality birds. I wish that deal would have been offered to me! Don't pass it up!

I've just started 4-H in February, and finding good stock right now is hard to find. Breeders are hatching as many chicks and growing out as many they can for their future show birds and breeding stock. My 4-H leader says the best time to get good birds is in the fall when breeders are thinning out their flocks for winter. Breeders only have a certain amount of space for birds.

Remember, when you do get some good quality stock, you should know what faults to look for and see what roo to which hen will produce the best offspring. Even if you have the best bird in the country, but you pair it with another silkie that doesnt compliment it well, the offspring will not be the best it could have been. Of course genesand genetics come into play as well.
