So while the chicks were in the brooder they where moved to the basement, there is a little separate room that they were staying in and one day I came home and they were all in the big basement and they were running everywhere! It was so funny! Except for the poop on the rug:sick
:goodpost: Funny chicks! :clapOh, yas...poop on the rug (or anywhere in that matter) is no fun!

I have 2 month old chicks too I have a time trying to make them petable so I touch them everyday the boys aren't budging so finally they came around the hens started to jump on my legs and arms and I was loving it thinking nothing could go wrong then the sweetest one of all jumps right on my shoulder and I'm happy and all then the unthinkable she Poops right on my shoulder not the hard kind either the loose kind she quickly became my most hated bird I still love her tho

Oh the stories I could tell!

I've gotten in a pecking match with a hen who thought she was the boss of me.

This is the same hen who would go "chick bowling." She was one of the youngest in the flock until I hatched some chicks. When they went in with the flock it was her mission to make their life miserable. She would wait until they all gathered together scratching happily. Then full speed without a sound would run into the group of chicks. I swear I heard her laugh as they all scattered.

I also walked around for several hours with chicken poop on my back one day. Had no idea until I went to get back in my car and found it on the car seat as well.

Well, I had a Barred Rock named Tiny (HAD- she got eaten by a coyote last night :( )
We were in the garden. She snuck up on me and started pecking my feet! I jumped and knocked her away with my foot but when I tried she pecked it again! She kept doing it until my feet were red! She was trying to play. :lau:lau:lau
OH no!!!!! I am so sorry!!! :hit

Awww, that's cute! Chickens are the best! :love

Stupid rooster

The chickens were out foraging and one young rooster was at least 100' away from the rest of the flock. I heard him clucking and cooing and saw him doing his dance near the bottom of a Rocky Mountain juniper. From the distance I could see a dark form on the other side of the tree trunk. I assumed that he was trying to sweet talk one of the young hens but was I wrong. When I got closer to the rooster, I could see that the item of his affections was a big black tomcat that was actually stalking him.

Of course the cat took off in one direction as the rooster went the other way. I thought later if the rooster was too dumb to tell the difference between a cat and a hen that I should have just let the cat get him. Hopefully he learned not to try to romance any more cats.
