Oh yeah no I know they weren’t necessarily on a farm before but even so, I don’t think most cats would eat a chicken. They’re huge! And I wouldn’t feel right putting a kitten outside that young anyway so they like wouldn’t go out till they were an adult anyway if I had one if at all. Lots of coyotes around here. Plus fox, coyote, raccoon, etc.usually they wont give you kittens if you tell them they are for a barn. And i'd be scared of an adult barn cat eating chickens. Barn cat just means "wild but kinda tame". Not that they where ever on a real farm

should have at the very least found an adult or gone and looked for the horse. It couldn’t have gone far.
