mine dont really mind. i even saw them lay a few times

I have a few that will try and tear your face off if you even get near the nest.
I've had others that I've watched (and videoed) them laying eggs.

Me too! My BLRW, Bella, will kill me if I so much as open the coop while she's laying. And she spends 2 extra hours on the best box thinking about her egg while attacking the other girls who are impatiently waiting to lay
She's like a year-round broody monster.
