I've been trying to learn for a while, but I keep getting busy with other things.
Oh, also, kanji. There are so many kanji characters. There are several thousand, and 2,000 are required for day-to-day stuff.

You should definitely try to learn Japanese! I'm learning, and though remembering all the kanji is hard, the grammar is ridiculously easy, so that makes up for it.
Have you tried using Duolingo? That's what I use, as well as an app called Human Japanese.

For some reason, the grammar is tricky for me, and I just don't have the time to sit down and work through it....
