They certainly are!
We’ve had chickens for about 3 or 4 years now, but there’s still a thrill of trying to figure out which pullet started to lay while examining the very odd first eggs. Even with Mulan I get excited to see if she laid an egg. Maybe it’s the “surprise!” element?
Multiple colours seem to bring out the excitement too; from pretty blues to sages to pinks and shades is brown—it’s always a surprise. It’s also a surprise when the EE actually lay in the nest boxes and not playing “come find my nest”.Yeah, maybe. I've had chickens for almost 5 years now, and I still love going out and seeing who laid.
