They have special barn cat programs in a lot of areas for the cats that can’t live inside or just prefer to be outside for whatever reason, etc. and they’re often free or really cheap. Not to mention a lot of the cats for the house program are lazy and don’t make good hunters. not all of them of course but they’re used to laying around inside and having a warm lap and full bowl, etc. Not that barn cats don’t get love too, I know they do. But the barn cat program cats are happier outside. Not every cat is. Plus I can’t get over lying

usually they wont give you kittens if you tell them they are for a barn. And i'd be scared of an adult barn cat eating chickens. Barn cat just means "wild but kinda tame". Not that they where ever on a real farm
