It was okay. I have a broody hen I don't know what to do with. In the past she has been VERY difficult to break, and we go on a trip this weekend so I can't exactly stick her somewhere.
She'll get to hog a nest for the weekend I guess.

Yeah it's fun when they go broody! Been a long time since I've had to deal with it and back then had plenty of boxes. I hate getting pecked by a mean momma though!

Yeah it's fun when they go broody! Been a long time since I've had to deal with it and back then had plenty of boxes. I hate getting pecked by a mean momma though!

Mine is a mean momma. We refer to her as the "snapping turtle" when she's on the nest.
She also does the fluffy scream thing. *shudder* It haunts me.

Oh no! That sounds terrible!!! That's gotta be rough! Hopefully if you have a house sitter they're ok with chickens.

We have a friend popping by once to check feed and water but that's it. We're only gone one full day.
But yeah I'll tell her not to try to pet Salt. She's perfectly sweet and fluffy off the nest, but if you get a hand anywhere near her when she's on it....
