Comercial broiler chicks

one fo the local chicken growers has said he would sell me 60 comercial broiler chicks form $75. is tha a good deal and are these the same as cornish cross.
 
It's not really a deal for that quantity. Your really only saving the shipping that it would cost if you were to mail order from a hatchery. I just got a e-mail from Meyer Hatchery. They have their broilers on sale for $1.16 shipped (if you get 50). So not a deal, but an average price.

Yes, I would say they are some line of Cornish Cross.
 
That's might be his cost, and he's just saving you the trouble of placing your own order. That's my guess.

Or... Perhaps he orders them 5,000 at a time, and he's going to make $20 or $30 bucks off you. Regardless, that's well within "normal" prices for meaties. If you don't trust the guy, you could simply order from Meyer, McMurray, Welp, etc. for something in that same price range.
 
That's about average price- they are probably Cornish X's. Personally, at an average price, I'd rather get them from a good hatchery, unless you trust the guy.
