Comercial Fertilizer

We free range our chickens and ducks. I want to apply fertilizer and lime to our pasture. Will this be harmful to the chickens and ducks? We have a portable chicken house that we move around the pasture.

Quite possibly, depending on the type of fertilizer you use. I know a woman who lost her whole flock that way.
