Common Black pullet? (Australorp cross - not a sexlink)

They are from Mt. Healthy Hatchery.
The hatchery told me they are going to be a lot like the Australorp when grown..
They are suppose to be an Aussie cross, but they didn't say what they are crossed with!
Maybe EE..

I am coming to this late, but it is my understanding that an Australorp Rooster crossed with any barred female will produce sex-links. I know your chick is showing some tarnished coloring, but I'm going to wonder if she's an Australorp/Barred Rock cross.

I know in other places of the world, the New Hampshire x Australorp bird is very popular. My TSC mystery "commercial pullets" have gold lacing everywhere and some are sporting a complete gold breast. I don't see any BR in mine. But again, there are a couple different kinds of these mystery pullets. So, we wait until they grow up and see what we get, I guess.

Interesting...in another week I'll update my photos to show their development. Right now they're 1-week old and just beginning to feather out their wingtips. My first batch seemed to grow a heck of a lot faster than these, and these are really skittish. I like the foot stomp thing...maybe your bird thinks it's a whitetail deer!

If it starts snorting...I might start worrying.
