Common Question

Agree but even if it wasn't and you're not allowed roosters then I'm sure they wouldn't let you keep a crowing hen either.
No they wouldn’t but we were going to move to the country but haven’t yet. My granddaughter caught her at a rodeo and I had to be the one to take care of it. Kinda attached and my neighbor on one side likes her so I don’t think I’ll have problems. Thank you I’ll update when she or he gets a month or so older

Can someone help me with my wynodotte please? I thought it was a hen but she definitely belted out three crows this morning!
Male. I raise Rhode Island Whites but have had White Wyandottes which are very similar with Rose Comb. That is a male... Good luck and have fun...

It is a cockerel and when it learns just how fun the crowing is it will become very good and loud at doing it.
You and your one neighbor might very well enjoy him but everyone else on the block might not be so appreciative of him.
Good luck.

You might find me silly but I’ve been trying to make him meow like a cat. I have a Facebook page and I post some funny things about him. Whenever I meow at him he opens his beak and stretches his neck. Also shakes his head. Have you ever known a chicken that can make different noises or am I just crazy?

Call me crazy but none of my males are big crowers. They will crow if they see me out around the coops to beg for treats or if something out of the ordinary is happening. I usually give everyone treats when I collect the eggs, most days. My neighbors aren't very close and say they can hear them crow but were surprised they didn't crow more.
