common sense fashion rules

My biggest gripe about clothing is teen/tween girls who dress like little hookers (HATE the Bratz dolls). Society says that grown men shouldn't look at little girls (in THAT way), but many of these "little girls" dress to show it all. Heck, I'm a 45 year old heterosexual married woman, and if my eyes bug out at the way some of these girls look, why would I expect a grown man not to ogle them??? I was recently looking at a friend of a friend's daughter's prom pictures. One girls dress was skin tight, plunging in the front, with two wide panels cut out around each side to show bare midriff, belly and back. In a sense it was beautiful, but it looked like something a stripper would wear (no offense to any strippers out there...lol...but hopefully you're at least legal). I can't understand why some parents allow their daughters to dress that way...

A big problem is parents who want to appear younger and dress in the same way. A lot of moms don't want to be a mom, they want to be their teenagers best friend and be the cool parent, so they allow ridiculous things especially in the name of fashion.

A problem where I lived is festivals in the summer time. Young girls will dress themselves as what many have started calling "Prosti-tots". Girls as young as 10 will dress in tiny shorts or skirts and tank tops and flaunt themselves around the folks that set up the carnival rides because sometimes they will be allowed on the ride or get a little toy for free. They also face a lot of sexual harassment and pressures to do things they don't understand the implications of.
These girls have learned that appealing to older men gets them things that they want without having to pay for it.

Recently there was a Youtube video from a dance competition showing a group of very talented 7 year olds dancing the same routine from the song 'Single Ladies'. The dance itself didn't bother me as much as the burlesque dancer outfits they were wearing. Their dance instructor or better yet their parents should have had them in a different costume, something that would have covered them up.

It's a shame that these girls will continue to be dressed like this and perform more sexual dances before they are even in middle school.
