I have not yet dewormed my flock and need educated. We sell our eggs so would prefer a product without withdrawl time but also would prefer a well rounded one and my hens overall health is priority. I would like to do it before winter but am a new chicken keeper and don't have lots of info. I don;t see any worms but havent given them anything except squash and pumpkin as a natural dewormer. half of the flock is over a year old laying hens 22 and the other half 30 are young pullets that almost 5 months old. they are not laying yet......5 are roosters......3 bantam and 2 standard
I appreciate any information

I like Strike 3 (Dumor) as a preventative. You can mix with their feed, and I understand there's no withdrawal for egg consumption...although the bottle says there's a three day withdrawal for meat consumption, so you might want to make sure if you're selling the eggs.

Can that be purchased at Tractor Supply? I don't have any other resources closer to me.
Is it like a pellet?

It would be great to have a list of products with dosages that don't require egg disposal

Anywhere that resource is available?

I would love to have that resource as well.

The only worms that can be easily seen are the large roundworm and tapeworms, all others are too small. If you can, collect a bunch of fresh poop from as many birds as possible, place in bag, stir well, take to vet and have a fecal float done.

A fecal is always best, like Kathy said. But yes you can get Strike 3 at TSC. It's a pellet but I like it as opposed to the kind Rooster Booster makes, because the Strike 3 has more corn in it, I guess that's why they seem to like it better, and it's softer, so the pellet crumbles fairly easily or you can even crumble it up a bit. As I think I said earlier, I like it as a preventative, although if there's an actual worm issue, I'd probably opt for something where they'd be more likely to ingest enough dewormer quickly to fix the problem.
