I have a barred rock hen named Rocky. My first and only other barred rock hen was named Rocky. She was supposed to be Raquel, but she was just more of a Rocky. It was not my shining moment in chicken naming, I admit.

Wow, I just stumbled on this thread, and was amazed. I've been looking for a place to mention that my chicks are starting to act just like the ones in "Chicken Run" but didn't want to get too off topic. Especially the last few days, I am seeing so much expression on their faces when something happens. I never realized how talented the animators were when they did that movie. My girls get this look of total anxiety and concern when anything new is happening, and they wave their 'arms' around and all talk at once. Last night I was a little late putting them to bed, and you should have seen how nervous they were. They kept asking me "Where were you, where have you been, do you know what time it is?????" Too funny. I guess I'll have to get the movie out again.

I really love this movie! We named our all brown EE'er Ginger after that movie. She was just Ginger in color! I knit, so I love the knitting chicken!

Classic movie.
a Must see.

Make sure you watch (or have watched) the Great Escape (1960's movie, with about a 1000 stars)
They totally ripped that movie off. Ginger is the Steve McQueen character. Truly funny when you start getting some of those jokes.

On the DVD, hit the "panic" button (from the main menu)
Now that's funny. (and looks like my old place of work too

)

we have a Ginger too, always trying to go "under the wire"

When Rocky gives the rats "all the eggs he lays", that's just too funny.

We don't have children but it's one of my all time favorites!!!

I was in tears from laughing, the first time I ever saw it on tv as we had just gotten our gang and Skip and I took turns saying, "Oh, now that is sooo like Jamaica (Ginger), Buckwheat (Rocky), Romeo (Fowler).

I watch it everytime it's on!
