Comparing and improving egg quality, flavor

As for the soy business... I have read what struck me as credible studies to suggest that large amounts in our diet can hurt us, particularly as it pertains to thyroid health. (Sorry, no links here, it's been a while, my memory is crap, etc. etc. etc.) I'm a thyroid cancer survivor so I'm touchy to such things.
Chickens are not humans. Huge amounts of soy in your diet isn't good (as you know). Huge amounts of soy in a chicken's diet isn't a problem.

Soybeans are a bit like corn in that they're domesticated to the point that they barely resemble their ancestors (and we're not 100% sure which species is actually the ancestor), but they all pretty much cover the areas that the original Red ,Green and Grey Junglefowl lived (SE asia). Soy may be one of the more natural things you can feed your chickens.
