Hatching
Hello, been browsing a bit and decided to join so I can learn more.
My background has revolved around the Navy, Submarines and Medicine for the last 21 years.
My family and I live in Kitsap County in Washington. I'm completely new to chickens. My wife grew up with a large yard, with about a dozen chickens, two geese, a couple of ducks and a couple of horses. We also recently purchased a home after renting for the last couple of years. Our neighbor in our old neighborhood had a few chickens and some rabbits, Both struck a chord with our whole family. My daughter is wanting to raise some rabbits and get involved in showing them as well as getting involved in 4H. My wife and I would like to have a small coupe and run with about 4 chickens, for egg production. We are in a semi rural neighborhood but have limited flat ground in our yard.
Looking forward to learning more and trying to find some local chicken connections. Only been in our new neighborhood for a couple of weeks, but I hear a rooster near by. Need to take a good walk once the weather gets nicer and see what I can learn from a new neighbor once I locate them.
