I just wanted to show off my first hatch and say thanks to everyone here at BYC who helped me put personally and who's information I used to learn how to hatch my own eggs. The early morning of 8-1 I put 14 eggs (RIR x Dorking/Americuana) In my still air LG incubator. I used the dry incubation method. I tried to keep it as simple as possible being my first hatch with one of the most basic incubators on the market. My assessment of this incubation method is its one of the easiest to follow. 6/14 on my first hatch. Almost a %50 hatch rate with lots of temp fluctuations due to having outside temps reaching 112F, and above 100F for 2 weeks straight! I feel with a more constant cooler outdoor temp, my indoor temps easier to maintain ill have a better hatch rate next time. Heres some pics I took throughout the hatching, and some from this morning when I put them in the brooder
Again thank you BYC for the knowledge, its priceless!!
