I was wondering what is bad about keeping chickens and ducks together and i dont plan on having any drakes

Is this in a pen or free range? I have ducks chicken an geese and they all free range together inside fencing,at night the chickens roost the ducks are on the floor in the same coop. Geese have their own home. During hormones there can be some pulling tail feathers but they pretty much live peaceful together. What breed of ducks an what breed of chickens?

well I dont have ducks yet and we are currently building a bigger coop so they wont have to free range as much and I have 5 barred rock chickens 2 rhode island red 1 golden sex link and 1 welsummer we are also looking for flightless ducks

I have a chicken and 2 ducks who all live together. They hatched together in a care-home at Easter and have since been reared together. They love one another. The ducks certainly stick together and follow one another around but Henny (chicken) is the boss when it comes to feeding time.
The ducks do mucky the water up extremely quickly and create much more mess than my hen. She doesn’t seem to mind but she hasn’t known any different! She drinks the same water as them although I have a smaller drinking container and a large water container for them to bathe in (this is where they poop).

I heard that when chickens drink water that ducks pooped in that its bad is that true
I have buckets set out with steps made so my chickens can use them the ducks muddy the water but rarely poop in them. I use odd things I have like cement blocks pieces of landscaping timbers etc to give the chickens a way to the buckets. Now if you use reg chicken waterers then you may have a problem. And my birds do not get food an water inside over night. Ducks are the slobs of the poultry world.
